Serving Areas

Serving areas are used when a venue has multiple locations that food and drink can be served in and where the routing of the order should go to the correct serving area.

The allocation of table numbers to serving areas is managed against each site individually

Zonal recommend using Serving Areas in configurations that need to control certain orders being presented to screens - for simple operations this might not be required and is an optional feature

For example:

  • A site that has multiple floors might use a lift operation with screens at each lift, serving areas can be helpful to route items based on the table number allocated (table 1-20 downstairs and 30-50 upstairs)
