Portions & Ingredients

Portions

Portions are used on the POS to control the sale of products that have different sizes or alternate ways of being sold for example Small, Medium, Stuffed Crust, Take Away etc.

When Kitchen iQ receives orders that have products sold by portion the operator might need to be aware that the item should be prepared differently.

In a busy service environment it can be useful to view a list of common product items and the current quantity of those items, helping operators to quickly see how many of an item to prepare without having to manually count up over multiple tickets.

Products Entity codes that are displayed in Aztec Product Modelling are used to create a selection of ingredients (product items) that are displayed on the screen.

Adding New Ingredients

Follow these steps to add new ingredients:

  1. Click Add

  2. Enter the following details, Ingredient Name | enter the Product ID (from Aztec Product Modelling / Menu Manager) for the product you wish to map to the ingredient

Don't forget you can map any product for example you might have 8oz Sirloin steak that comes with Fries and Onion Rings so the ID for the steak can be added within the ingredient mapping as well as products that might be a side order like fries
  3. As required configure the Portion / Count of any ingredients required, if there are no portions enter the count value against the default portion

  4. Additional lines can be added to the same ingredient item by clicking Add Next Line of Mapping, this enables a different Product ID to configured with different portions and counts

  5. Click Save

Zonal recommends clicking the "Click to Collapse" option to hide the Product IDs if there are many within mapping to save on space
Ingredients to be displayed on screen are controlled within the Channel configuration - a channel can be configured to show a specified set of ingredients which is relevant to that location within a preparation area
