Routing Rules

Routing rules control where all product items are sent on their journey through the preparation journey, from the entry point to the exit point and each stage between. Items are routed to stations and can be routed on any number of steps until they reach the exit point.

Single station routing will send the item from one station to another.

Multiple station routing will send the item to 2 or more stations and be recombined as a single item at a given station. This gives viability of items at different stations who might be preparing components parts of the item.

When using multiple item routing the same product name would appear at all stations and it is the operators responsibility to know what part of the item they are preparing

Adding New Routing Rules

Follow these steps to add a new X:

  1. Click Add

  2. Select Entry Point from the From Station drop down, all orders coming into the system need to be identified by selecting Entry Point

  3. Select from the Filter drop down the required filter options, more than one filter can be selected for example you might select a "course of starters" and a "prep stream of cold starters"

    • Course

    • Order Destination

    • Prep Stream

    • Terminal Group

    • Serving Area

    • Station Dish Allocation

  4. Select the required To Station from the drop down

Multiple "To Stations" can be configured if an item is to be sent to more than one station for preparation
  5. Select the required Recombine station from the drop down

The recombine station is only applicable if more than 1 station has been added in the "To Station"
  6. Adjust the routing order as required with the up / down arrow buttons

  7. Continue adding rules so that:

    • All items are routed to their correct station in accordance to the onsite operation

    • For any rule that has an Entry Point there should be a corresponding rule to move the order to the next station or to an exit point

      • A minimum of 2 rules always required Entry Point to Station and Station to Exit Point

      • Any other number of rules can be added in between

    • The order of each rule should be checked

      • As an order enters the system it will check each rule to find a match, the first match based on filter criteria will be actioned

      • If orders are not going to the correct station it likely that the order is wrong and should be adjusted or there is incorrect configuration within channel setup for actionable and excluded stations

  8. Click Save
