What's New

The following new features have been introduced in this version of FreedomPay.

Feature Description
Improve workaround for Z500 IPToSerial problem

The workaround for firmware download problems on PEDs connected via Z500 serial ports has been enhanced. They no longer depend on the ZOE API to reset the PED connection and no longer go inactive after a few minutes of inactivity

Store and Forward configuration changes

By increasing the retry interval for failed Store And Forward transactions, we've significantly reduced resource consumption from excessive calls to the acquirer, ensuring the system operates more efficiently

More options in minimum threshold amount for Pennies drop-down

We added more options for minimum threshold amount for Pennies in the Aztec Head Office setting, and users now have a wider range of configuration options, ensuring their needs are better met. Previous choices included £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, and now the added options of £5, £40, £50. PED/Till will not prompt for a Donation if the guest's order value is below the selected Minimum Donation Threshold

Workaround printing issue with the latest Move firmware

FreedomPay has provided a package that addresses a print formatting issue on devices onboarded using the CTDI key injection facility. Initially, it was believed that this problem only affected test devices; however, similar issues have been observed in new devices being deployed to sites in Q1 2025

Prevent Dynamic Currency Conversion on transactions under £100

As per MasterCard established guidelines, sites should not offer Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) for transactions below £100. This update introduces a limit of £100 to comply with the requirement. The limit is determined based on the client's bill balance, excluding tips and donations
