Devices

All hardware devices for the site including terminals, printers, barcode scanners, and PIN pads are managed within the devices tab, this page describes some of the common functionality when managing devices.

When managing point of sale terminals this must also be setup first in Base Data → Estate Structure → Site → Sales Area → Add New POS
Navigate to Theme Modelling → Site Setup → Devices

Adding Terminals

Follow these steps to add a terminal

  1. Right click on the Server and select Add Terminal

  2. Enter the following details

    • Name

    • IP Address

    • Subnet Mask

    • Gateway IP

    • Hardware Type - select the required option that for the type of terminal being setup

      • Z9 - for sites on Aztec 3.31.0 or above

      • XP POS (for Z9) - for sites on Aztec 3.29.0 or below

    • Terminal Name

      If this drop down is empty the POS has not been added in Base Data
    • Customer Display Type - select 'serial' if a two line display is attached

    • Configuration Set - select the required config set for this terminal

    • Scrolling Message - enter the required scrolling message if a customer display is being used

    • Pound (£) Code - enter '339' if a customer display is being used

  3. Click OK

Adding Devices to Terminals

Serial Printers

Follow these steps to add a serial printer to a terminal:

  1. Right click on the terminal

  2. Select Add Peripheral

  3. Enter the following details

    • Name

    • Device Type

      • Orient BTP-R580/R580II (Serial) - thermal

      • Orient BTP-M300 (Serial) - impact

    • Port Number

    • Button Name 1-3

  4. Click OK

Other Options

Account Number Reset

The account number shown when a transaction is created on the point of sale terminals begins at 1 and increments up to 9999, after which it resets back to 1. If needed, this sequence can be configured to restart at 1 each day.

Follow these steps to enable daily reset:

  1. Right click the Server

  2. Select Edit Server

  3. Select Reset Acc/Ord No Daily to be enabled

  4. Click OK

Change the Number of Order Tickets Printed

By default, when dispense printing is used, a single copy of the order ticket is printed. However, the number of copies can be adjusted as needed.

Follow these steps to change quantity:

  1. Right click on a Printer

  2. Click Edit 'Printer Name'

  3. Set the required value in No. of Order Tickets to Print

  4. Click OK

Compact Order Lines

When dispense printing is used, identical items can be consolidated into a single line showing the total quantity, rather than listing each item individually. This behaviour can be configured according to your preference.

Follow these steps to set compacted order lines:

  1. Right click on a Printer
  2. Click Edit 'Printer Name'

  3. Select Compact Order Lines if the Same to be enabled

  4. Click OK

Display Seat Information on Dispense Tickets

When printing dispense tickets, some preparation areas may not require seat information to be included. This behaviour can be configured to suit your specific requirements.

Follow these steps print seat information:

  1. Right click on a Printer
  2. Click Edit 'Printer Name'

  3. Select Show Seat Headers to be enabled

  4. Click OK
