Guest Waiting Areas Explained

The "Guest Waiting Areas" feature allows businesses to create and manage virtual waiting areas for guests. This can include areas such as:

  • Bar

  • Front Garden

  • Rear Garden

  • Lounge

By defining these guest waiting areas, hosts can assign guests to a specific location while they wait for their table to become available. This helps organise and track where guests are waiting, rather than having them congregate in an unstructured way and, in turn, provides a more structured and professional experience for customers.


Creating a Waiting Area

You can define waiting areas to make it easier for staff on large sites to keep track of guests waiting to be seated. For example, you might want to check in an arrived guest and ask them where on-site they would like to wait.

With guest waiting areas defined, staff are prompted to select a waiting area whenever a new customer is added or when changes to an existing customer are saved.

To set up new guest waiting areas:

  1. From the site administrator’s menu bar, choose Site Setup.

  2. Select Guest Waiting Areas.

  3. Select Add New Area.



  4. Enter the name of the new waiting area and select Save.


  5. To delete an existing waiting area, select the Delete check-box alongside the waiting area you want to delete and select Save.
